報告人簡介:

Dr. Guihua Bai is a USDA Research Plant Molecular Geneticist and a professor in the Department of Agronomy, Kansas State University. He is also the director of USDA Central Small Grain Genotyping Center and the director of Sequence and Genotyping Facility of Kansas. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. from Nanjing Agricultural University in 1982 and 1985, and Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1995. The focus of Dr. Bai’s program is to discover new generation molecular markers and implement high throughput DNA markers in US hard winter wheat breeding programs, map and clone important wheat genes for economically important wheat traits, develop high-throughput functional markers for the breeding, and investigate functional genomics of wheat resistance to multiple diseases and abiotic stresses.

Dr. Bai is one of the leading scientists in his field, he has published more than 180 papers with 8700 citations. He is the recipient of the elected fellows of Crop Science Society of America and American Society of Agronomy. He is also the recipient of the National Friendship Award, Chinese Government.
