張翔博士是美國肯塔基州Louisville大學終身教授，多年來一直從事分子系統生物學的教學和研究工作，曾在Journal of Protome Research, Bioinformatics,Nature Protocols等發表論文50余篇。

講座內容簡介：The Molecular Systems Biology is a field in biology aiming at molecular level understanding the dynamics, control and complexes of biological processes. It attempts to create predictive models of cells, organs, biochemical processes and complete organisms. Dr. Zhang will introduce the fundamentals of modern molecular systems biology and its applications in life sciences. 

張翔教授簡介：Dr. Xiang Zhang has been working in molecular systems biology for over 10 years.  He originally was trained as a radiochemist and then a physicist.  With his solid background in physics, data mining, and scientific programming, Dr. Zhang completely moved into the bioinformatics field after he arrived at Purdue University in 1996. After graduating in 2001 from Purdue University with a doctorate in chemistry, Dr. Zhang joined Beyond Genomics Inc. that uses a systems biology approach for biomarker discovery. Dr. Zhang moved back to Purdue University in 2004 and become the Director of Computational Life Sciences and Informatics of the Bindley Bioscience Center in 2005.  In Jan 2008, Dr. Zhang was recruited to the University of Louisville as Associate Professor of Chemistry. Dr. Zhang’s research focuses on multidisciplinary life sciences research. The ultimate goal of his research is to integrate experimental and computational approaches for better understanding of living systems.
